Mr Green goes ‘green’

Isn’t is absurd that we dream of other worlds in the stars, thinking that we can create life on some barren rock like Mars, when we can’t even sustain it on planet earth?

Chewing gum is thrown out of car windows like the road is one giant garbage bin. Contractors are chopping down trees as if oxygen falls from the skies. And electricity is being wasted like it’s magically being generated in some factory.

Sadly, most of us live on planet Earth as if we have another one to go to. And most of us fail to recognize that so far, we do not have a backup plan(et). Once we destroy planet earth, everything we work so hard for every day becomes obsolete. Nothing will matter.

From saving endangered turtle species to organizing garbage pickups or planting trees in Ireland, Mr Green has always been environmentally cautious since he’s been a little boy. And so can you.

Each and every one of us can make changes in the way we live our lives and become part of the solution. So, in celebration of Earth Day today, Mr Green would like to invite you to play on your mobile phone to save a few hours’ worth of electricity.

Most electricity comes from energy produced by fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas and coal. These fuels are naturally found on our planet and require drilling or mining to be extracted. These processes carry many environmental pollution risks from mining operations, drilling leaks or explosions. Remember the catastrophic oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010?
