The Magic of Literature
Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind and flight to the imagination. Books are like a magic portal.
From the feel of leathery bindings, the smell of the freshly printed pages to digesting each and every word that projects you into a wondrous world of fiction – there’s something intrinsically enchanting about books.
The more Mr Green matured, the more he began to appreciate books. After all, it’s the perfect way to escape reality and let your imagination roam free. Throughout the years his passion for books, turned into something else, a ‘healthy obsession’ if you will.
Today, Mr Green’s wooden shelves strain under the weight of double-parked, triple-stacked books that threaten to overspill long before the pile even began. From adventure packed books like ‘20,000 Free Spins under the Sea’ to ‘The Lord of the Spins’ and classics like ‘The Slotfather’, there’s not a single genre missing.
Like every year on ‘World Book’ day Mr Green steps into his little library and runs his fingers across the book covers in search for his favourite Shakespeare novel. Stuck in between ‘The Lion, the Witch & the Gentleman’ and ‘One thousand and One Wins’, he finally finds ‘The Twelfth Night’.
He carefully brushes his fingers across the gold lettering before he opens the cover. Words appear and disappear as his eyes fly across the pages, quickly picking out anything of importance from the jumble of sentences that litter the world he suddenly immerses himself in.
Books are proof that magic truly exists.
