Rigged Tables (Casino-history)

In the 1930's, a group of player constructed a very successful roulette strategy. They simply placed bets against the highest roulette bet. Since many (read: most) tables were rigged to house advantage, the highest bet would not win.

Another strategy from the house was orchestrated by Mr Humphrey Bogart, playing Rick in Casablanca. He can at any time stop the roulette table at number 22. However, in the popular movie from 1942 this is used to cheat to the disadvantage of the house. Rick uses the mechanics to make sure that Mr Victor Laszlo, the Czech underground freedom fighter, wins enough money to buy transportation visas out of Casablanca.

All in front of the eyes of the local German-friendly military police.
